Vickie is a gifted and delightful design and implementation master. For a kitchen design project, no detail is too small for Vickie. She plays really close attention throughout the process, guiding, cajoling, and imposing as the kitchen progresses. Her specialty is kitchens in older homes. Mine was the remodel of a kitchen in a 201-year-old stone cottage in the Blue Ridge Mountains. She and her team never blinked despite challenges like 4 black snakes coming out of the wall during demolition, or a crumbling central wall.

We could not be happier with our dining table. The staff was extremely helpful in helping us choose just the right table and chairs to meet the needs of our growing family. The staff was so professional and friendly. The table and chairs were ready on time, and pickup was easy. Everyone that’s seen the table has been very impressed with it. I love the fact that I don’t have to worry about the messes and spills that my grandchildren or any of the adults make on the table. Cleanup is a breeze, and the table’s finish still looks brand new.

They provided reclaimed hardwood floors for our entire new house. Also, they provided reclaimed ceiling boards. Truly this company tries to combine a good product with reliable but friendly service that goes above and beyond to do the right thing and provide a good product for your needs. I was impressed with their shop and personalized service. Vickie treats you like one of the family. I recommend this company if you are looking for a unique product with a lot of character to add ooohh‘s and aaahh‘s to your home.

I worked with Vickie on several custom pieces for our new home – fireplace mantel, wood wrap for the range hood and a kitchen table. All of the pieces turned out perfect! Vickie was extremely helpful in the selections/finish options and provided great customer service.

We had a great experience working with SK&H. We had a fairly specific desire to purchase a kitchen table that would fit our style and seat up to 12 people. Vickie and her craftsmen were able to help us out: using one of the standard designs, they allowed us to tweak the dimensions of the table and actually developed a custom leg style.

We have referred several clients in recent years for reclaimed lumber fireplace mantles to go with our fireplace projects. They always have a nice selection of old timber offerings in the arena, and customize the sizes for us when needed for our project. Good folks to deal with.

When it was time to build an addition to our home, we knew we wanted our kitchen to have an island made by SK&H. Our visits with Vickie were informative and interesting. We enjoyed learning more about the process of how each piece is made, from being part of a barn to being a piece of furniture — and we had no idea how many choices and options were available!

We first discovered SK&H while visiting at a relative’s house. They had a beautiful kitchen farm table, and we couldn’t keep our hands off of it! The table’s texture was amazing, and we kept caressing it as we sat and chatted! We just had to have a farm table too.

My doors were hung last week, and they are absolutely gorgeous. I cannot be happier. The quality and color are a 10. I would highly recommend this company if you are looking for high quality. My barn doors in the interior of my house are now a focal point. I would highly recommend you have [Shenandoah Furniture] install them, [because] it’s a lot more complicated than it looks. Vickie is first class, knows her product, and is very helpful.

Great experience from first strolling into the store through finished floors and cabinetry. Working with Vickie was easy, no pressure but still focused and task-oriented. We utilized a couple different types of reclaimed wood floors for our new cottage home and they are truly stunning. They worked with and around other contractors to ensure that everything was properly timed for our and the project’s schedule, not their own schedule. Again great experience and would highly recommend.
