Our Neighbor – Catoctin Creek Distillery
Something that is unique to Loudoun County, Virginia is the spirit of the people who live and work here. There is a motto that most if not all of us Loudouners possess; live local, buy local and support local. As a local business owner in this community, we are so fortunate that the people who live here, and the other businesses that are our neighbors, show a dedication to our success and in return, we do the same.
There is a very special place, right in the heart of downtown Purcellville, which is an important part of the business growth of Loudoun County and especially Purcellville; Catoctin Creek Distillery.
Family owned since 2009 by Scott and Becky Harris, Catoctin Creek Distillery is the first family owned distillery in Loudoun County since before prohibition. They support the local agriculture community by purchasing organic, pesticide free, fruits and grains from local Loudoun farms as much as possible. Catoctin Creek does not settle for just “satisfaction” with their products and only believe in the highest quality product and service. Just as we say “The Shenandoah Way,” their level of dedication to their craft and the exceptional service they provide to their patrons, is “The Catoctin Creek Way.”
The team at Catoctin Creek provides tours of the facility gratis so they can educate their customers on their equipment, how they create their spirits and provide an opportunity to meet the owners. There are so many award winning spirits to choose from, and two of our favorites are:
The Roundstone Rye – at first taste, the flavor is boastful and spicy, with an aroma of vanilla. As the flavor develops, you taste a delicate sweetness and finish with a bold, yet refined flavor.
The Short Hill Mountain Peach Brandy – the aroma is intoxicating and presents a burst of peach flavor, that is fresh and clean on your palette; with hints of vanilla that explode as the flavor develops.
There is so much to do in what once was a quiet, little town in Loudoun County.
