We’re reclaimed wood fans, but we proudly create products made from new wood too. See the difference for yourself in our showroom.

The answer is maybe. The reclaimed wood we use for all of our products is specially prepared for reuse, ensuring it is properly dried, free of pests, and milled to the specifications of our craftsman.
SK&H sources our barn wood from historic barns and buildings throughout the mid-Atlantic region.
We’re huge fans of reclaimed wood and the unique wood grain patterns it offers. However, our hand-selected craftsmen can work with new and old wood, so choose the type of wood that gives you your desired look.
If the wood has been treated, use a gentle soap and a damp cleaning cloth to remove any dirt or crumbs. For reclaimed wood that hasn’t been treated, we recommend a mixture of olive oil, white vinegar, and water. For cracks or wood grain that catches dust or buildup, use a soft brush or a new paintbrush.
Each piece is made to order, so the time from order to delivery varies, depending on the time of year, craftsman’s workload, and availability of resources. We will provide a good-faith time estimate when you place your order.
