Our remodel of this beautiful “checkmate” kitchen captures the essence of the “farmhouse kitchen.”
In this high-end kitchen remodel, our kitchen design team left no detail to whimsy. They worked with the homeowners to define the overall look and feel – they chose the early American Virginia Farmhouse style … with all the modern amenities.
Once the look was defined, the artisans at Shenandoah Furniture Gallery began their work of hand-making custom cabinetry from antique oak barn boards reclaimed from a single Loudoun County Virginia barn. From the same barn, they reclaimed the structural beams used on the ceiling and floorboards used in the painted wood wall paneling.
Once the natural and painted antique oak cabinetry, reclaimed structural beams, painted wood wall paneling, soapstone countertops, and open hardwood shelving were installed, it was time to decorate. The centerpiece became the beautifully made Shenandoah farm table.
